Upcoming Events

Hang tight while we look up scheduled events...

Here at MCA, it is our desire to be a place for you to connect to

Faith, Family and Friends.

Connect to Faith: it is our prayer that your experience here today will be another opportunity for you to connect with God through worship, His Word and prayer.

Connect to Family & Friends: it is also our prayer that we would be a place for families to grow together and a place to find healthy and encouraging friendships.

Pastors Thoughts...

Isaiah 7 is an interesting chapter, yet we often quote only one verse and forget the rest. Lets just take a brief moment to look at the rest and how it illuminates the popular quoted verse. This  chapter begins with the house of David, finding themselves in a place of unrest, fearful of world situations. Then Isaiah is sent to encourage a wicked king, yet the king of Judah just the same. The Lord spoke through Isaiah that the plot against the house of David will not stand. Yet, He concludes with a warning that you better stand in faith or you won’t stand at all. I find this encouraging, that the Lord sought out and desired to speak to someone not seeking Him, or listening for Him. How much more will we be sought by the Lord and hear the Lord when we set out to be found by Him and to hear Him? What happens next is that God asks the king to request a sign from Him. Yet, the king responds with “Holy art thou’” type words. Matthew Henry describes it best “Secret dissatisfaction to God is often disguised with the suspicious colours of respect to him; and those who are resolved that they will not trust God yet pretend that they will not tempt Him.” This is when God speaks even when the king is not willing to listen, and we find the often quoted verse with the promise name of IMMANUEL or Emmanuel. A Hebrew name that can only be found twice in the Old Testament (Is 7:14; 8:8) and once in the New Testament (Mt 1:23).
Immanuel - “God with us.”. With this we have the promise of the Messiah. He came some 500+ years after the promise, wrapped in a Glorious name, Immanuel - God With Us.

This Christmas season lets seek the One who desires to be found and listen to the One who is speaking. Even in the midst of turmoil we can be assured that He is Immanuel. Every time you hear the Carols sing the name Immanuel this season, be reminded of His presence here with us.
